Fred Myers Privacy Policy
Family-friendly play with local saves. Fred Myers and the Moonpetal Marsh can be played without a separate Flins App Vault account. Children should not enter or share a real name, contact detail, school, address, or other personal information.
This policy explains how The Flins App Vault, LLC. (“we,” “us,” or “TheFlins”) handles information in Fred Myers and the Moonpetal Marsh (the “App”).
Information stored on the device
Campaign progress, settings, earned coins, unlocked frog cosmetics, local scores, and ordinary gameplay records are stored on the player's device. TheFlins does not receive the ordinary device-local save. Deleting the App removes ordinary app-local saves. Private service credentials stored in the device Keychain may survive app deletion; deleting the App does not delete the service's discovery records.
Apple Game Center and App Store services
A player may choose to use Apple Game Center. Apple provides the authentication screen and controls the player's Game Center account, display name, achievements, and leaderboard services under Apple's terms and privacy practices. The App remains playable as a guest when Game Center is unavailable or the player does not connect.
Apple processes the paid App Store download. TheFlins does not receive the player's full payment credentials.
Play without the Golden Egg website
Build 11 does not contact our website during normal startup, menus, save loading, gameplay, Game Center sign-in, native leaderboards, or foreground resume. It does not require a website minimum-version check to play. Game Center remains a separate optional platform service.
Golden Egg discoveries
Fred includes an optional hidden Golden Egg feature. A discovery is kept safely on the device. Only after completing the hidden challenge and choosing to review a Game Center name or post as Anonymous, the App may send its app-scoped and team-scoped Game Center player identifiers, the provider-reported Game Center display name, fresh identity-verification material, App and build version, opaque gameplay-verification evidence, request-security information, and the player's Public or Anonymous choice. The website never accepts a typed substitute finder name.
For Golden Egg registration, the App sends team-scoped and game-scoped Game Center player identifiers, the Game Center display name, and an identity-verification proof to our service. The proof includes a signature, salt, timestamp and public-key location. Apple signs the team-scoped identity proof; Apple does not sign the display name or the separately reported game-scoped identifier. We treat the name as Game Center-reported information, not a cryptographically verified real name.
The service stores private pseudonymous identity bindings to authenticate discoveries and prevent duplicate or conflicting claims. A team-scoped binding can recognize the same Game Center player across our participating games; a game-scoped binding records the game context. These private identifiers, proofs and access credentials are not shown on public hunt pages. They are not used for advertising or cross-company tracking.
The service assigns and retains the official discovery identifier, server date and time, permanent overall and Fred-specific ranks, first-finder state, public reference, cosmetic Secret Code, and privacy status. These records are used only to provide the feature, preserve permanent rankings, prevent duplicate or fraudulent submissions, recover interrupted requests, respond to privacy requests, and meet legal obligations.
An explicitly Anonymous discovery appears publicly as Anonymous. A pending find without a posting choice is not shown publicly. The sanitized Game Center display name reported by the authenticated session appears publicly only after the player affirmatively chooses the public option; the name itself is not signed identity proof and a change requires another fresh verified exchange. Players cannot type a substitute finder name on the website. Choosing Anonymous hides the public name; it does not prevent the private identity verification and retention needed to register and protect a discovery. The cosmetic Secret Code and public discovery link are safe to share, but neither can authenticate a player, transfer a discovery, or change its privacy.
Players can instead choose not to post and return to the game. That find stays on the device without discovery or name submission and is not automatically posted later. Reviewing a name alone does not post a discovery; a separate confirmation is required. A failed public-name request is not silently changed to an Anonymous post. Connection failures preserve pending work and do not block gameplay or the return to Level 5.
Information we do not collect
The App does not use advertising, cross-app tracking, developer analytics, marketing attribution, location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone, health information, chat, free-form user content, in-app purchases, subscriptions, or paid virtual currency. TheFlins does not sell personal information or use App information for behavioral advertising.
The Game Center identifiers, provider-reported display name, and discovery record are linked user data used only for app functionality. Public-name consent is not advertising-tracking permission. This data is not used for advertising, data-broker sharing, or cross-company advertising linkage.
Service providers and security
Apple may process App Store and Game Center information as the platform provider. TheFlins hosting and security providers may process ordinary network information such as an IP address, request time, browser or App connection information, and security logs to deliver and protect the optional Golden Egg service. We use HTTPS, authenticated requests, non-guessable identifiers, limited public fields, duplicate prevention, and server-owned times and ranks. No online system is guaranteed completely secure.
Retention, choices, and deletion
Golden Egg discovery records are retained while the Golden Egg Hunt operates so permanent ranks, duplicate prevention, and Public or Anonymous choices remain consistent. A verified request to access, correct, anonymize, or delete applicable Golden Egg or support information may be sent to the privacy contact below. We may retain limited records when reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, disputes, or legal compliance.
Players can manage Game Center through Apple device settings, keep a Golden Egg discovery Anonymous, or decline the public-name option.
Children and families
The App has no chat, separate TheFlins account, or free-form text entry. Parents and guardians should supervise young players and avoid sending a child's personal information in a privacy or support request unless it is necessary to resolve the request.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy when the App, connected services, or legal requirements change. The effective date will be revised for material changes, and the App Store privacy answers will be kept consistent with the shipped build.
Privacy, parental, access, correction, anonymization, deletion, or support requests may be sent to theflinsappvaultllc@gmail.com. Do not email a child's full name or other unnecessary personal information.
